Gig in Button factory

Saw the lads in The Button Factory last Friday night. They did some of the album stuff and some new stuff that will on the new album. They are shit hot. Afterwards the lads did a small gig in Peadar Kearneys on Dame St, just some blues covers. It was hectic.

Ali & the DT's new album

I got a copy of "Get the first Layer of Civilisation off" the debut album from the Dublin blues/rock band Ali & the Dt's, it is shit hot. Ten powerful songs which show the musical ability of this six piece band starting off with Tiger Road, an epic song starting slowly and building up to a crescendo which I guarantee will have you tapping the floor to the beat. It has everything, you can feel the deep south from this album. Cleverly the band utilise the voices of Ali de Mora on some tracks and the voice of Terry Mc Guinness on others, this works extremely well with Mc Guinness possibly the more radio friendly voice. Check it out at www.aliandthedts.com or you can read another review at www.hotpress.ie
